Celebrating Marie Madeleine
with all European FCJ Schools

This is a very special year for Liverpool, (Capital of Culture), but it is also a very special year for Bellerive FCJ Catholic College. We are celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Foundress of the society of the sisters, Faithful Companions of Jesus.

Bellerive FCJ Catholic College are celebrating Marie Madeleine’s life and her legacy. The week leading up to the 5th April will be a time of celebration in school. It will include use of the latest technology to link up electronically to other FCJ schools around the world, e.g. Australia and the USA as well as those nearer to home. At the end of the week a representative group of forty students from Bellerive will travel to Paris to join the other European FCJ Schools in two days of activities. There will be over 600 children and young people aged from 5 – 18 years from the FCJ schools in Europe.

On Saturday 5th April, we will join other FCJ pupils, past pupils and friends for a Mass of Thanksgiving at Notre Dame de Paris Cathedral at 12.00 noon. About 20 staff from Bellerive FCJ are flying to Paris to join us for this special celebration.

There will also be celebrations for this anniversary in Liverpool including a Mass of Thanksgiving on the 13th September 2008 at the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King. The Mass will be at 12.00 noon and will be celebrated by Archbishop Patrick Kelly. All are most welcome.
