Was your History teacher English, by any chance? If it wasn't for the English exporting Ireland's produce because they believed it was too good for the 'stinking Fenian scum' there would never have been a "famine". All the Irish had to live on were potatoes, thanks to the thieving, raping, murderous English. When that crop failed they had nothing, thanks to the English. Of course, English historians and books to this day cover up the fact that the English caused An Gorta Mor by mentioning the Blight and little else.

No disrepect intented towards those English members of this forum who clearly had nothing to do with it....

Oh isn't it interesting how people feel themselves competent to judge and cast stones when it comes to this issue!

The Church calls him a bishop because he is a bishop, and he always will be a bishop.

Thanks so much for posting this.

If there was ever any doubt that his opinon of the Jews needed clearing up...
Oh yes, because it must be absolutely true!

Here's a quote you might wish to mull over:

Quote:
Jews are enemies of God and foes of our holy Religion.
That was St Padre Pio.

You could find plenty of similar stuff from canonised saints. I suppose they must have been sick and full of hate too.

I suppose noone is going to pick up on one of the things Bishop Williamson said in that article:

Quote:
He said: "If Jews are adversaries of Our Lord Jesus Christ - obviously not all of them, but those that are - then I don't like them.

"My definition of anti-Semitism is to be against every single Jew purely because he's a Jew. That's not at all my case. I once had a Jewish rabbi come and speak to seminarians. Does that sound to you like anti-Semitism?"
Interestingly, you can be a Jewish survivor of Auschwitz and still get branded an anti-semite these days:

Quote:
...Dr Hajo Meyer, 86, who survived 10 months in Auschwitz Nazi concentration camp in Poland.
...
The comments by Meyer have provoked a fresh outcry of "anti-Semitism" by hardline Jewish lobby groups.
...
“Formerly an anti-Semite was somebody who hated Jews because they were Jews and had a Jewish soul. But nowadays an anti-Semite is somebody who is hated by Jews,” he stated.
A spokesman for the International Jewish Anti-Zionist Network, of which Dr. Meyer is a member of, backed the remarks.
“Hajo knows that Israel has a long history of abusing the tragic history of the Holocaust in order to suppress legitimate criticism of its own crimes," said the spokesman.
Did you know that "goyim" means "cattle" by the way? Talk about hate speech!

Well I thought I'd add that at the end just to lighten the mood, but yes, most of my closest and best friends are English, as are most of my family (purely my father's fault for getting himself involved with a White Anglo Saxon Protestant woman...)

Looks as if the anti-Williamson camp haven't really done their homework....come to think of it, I don't really like Bp. Williamson either - but I recognise him and respect him as a validly consecrated Bishop of the Catholic Church. It's a pity some of my fellow Catholics don't seem able to do the same.

I have seen this before, but never seen a citation of its source. If those were his words, and they are not taken out of context, his canonisation was plainly an error.

Except that it doesn't mean "cattle". It means "nations" or peoples" and is used to mean "non-Jewish people".

Canonisation is apparently an infallible thing.

And, among the saints, Padre Pio is not alone in that opinion.

The problem is people's inability to distinguish between religion and race.

Obviously Judaism, as practised today, is opposed to Christianity. It rejects Christ.

The Apocalypse refers to those who say they are Jews but are not, but rather are the Synagogue of Satan. Was St John anti-semitic too? Should we stop referring to him as a saint, and throw out all his books in the Bible?

Thank you, I stand corrected.

Still no reference for "Jews are enemies of God".
